Local and federal investigators are getting ready to work on finding out why a 1.5-ton steel safe fell on a worker, killing him.
The accident happened at the Chase Bank on West Ken Caryl in Jefferson County.
The worker was helping to install the safe in the bank's vault, when it tipped over and crushed him. Firefighters cut through a wall to reach the man and another worker, who wasn't injured.
Sheriff's investigators and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are now involved.
The name of the man who died hasn't been released.
