ROWAN COUNTY, NC - A construction worker who was working on the Yadkin River Bridge has been injured after he fell on Thursday afternoon.
According to emergency crews, the worker was part of the crew doing construction on the bridge. Reports of the fall first were called out just before 5 p.m. on Thursday evening.
The rescue squad had to do a horizontal lift of the patient who was then transported to a medical helicopter that was waiting at the Millers Ferry Volunteer Fire Department.
Reports indicated that the construction worker would then be flown to Baptist Hospital.
