KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC - A worker died Thursday morning after being injured at a construction site in Kings Mountain.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on a cleared lot located next to the Hanes Brand plant on Commerce Boulevard.
When SKY 3 flew over the scene, we saw an ambulance and several pieces of heavy machinery parked nearby. Cleveland County EMS said they never transported anyone to the hospital.
A spokesperson for KBR Building Group said a subcontractor employee at the company's job site was killed.
There are reports that a piece of machinery ran over the worker, but officials have been unable to confirm this.
Both the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina Department of Labor are investigating.
